Kate McKean has never lived in a state that does not border the Atlantic Ocean, except Mississippi. This state, of course, borders the Gulf of Mexico, which is really just the tide pool of the Atlantic. She currently lives in Brooklyn-not that far from the water, really.

Kate studied at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Master's degree in fiction writing under Frederick Barthelme, Steven Barthelme, and Mary Robison. Her copywriting clients include Muze, Inc., The Greene Grape Online, and many companies associated with Al Designs, Inc. She writes whatever comes across her table, but specializes in retail promotional material, web-marketing, and other fictions.

Kate enjoys photography, reading, college football, and the graffiti that people scrawl on the ads in New York City subways.
